Finish all four of today’s daily games before the next daily reset: Flag Sprint, Country Connect (called Border Hop in version 1.0), Hot & Cold and Capital Quest. You’ll receive one random country you haven’t collected yet. Tap to open the surprise: a short shake builds anticipation before your country appears. Then choose Add to my passport. Reduce Motion uses a quiet reveal.

The country is reserved when you earn it. Closing the app before claiming it does not choose a different destination. Correct individual answers, practice games and archive games do not add countries.

A successful daily or archive completion today protects your streak. Practice and revealed answers do not. Complete all four daily games to unlock one random uncollected country, while countries remain. An eligible Travel grace day can still earn its country before the displayed deadline.

Version 1.0.1 focuses on your country collection and removes the daily-stamps display. Existing collected countries stay in your passport. Streaks and daily games continue after you collect every country.

In version 1.0.1, four new challenges arrive at midnight in your saved daily time zone. Pennant saves your device’s zone on your first visit and keeps it while you travel. Change it in Settings → Daily time zone when you move home. After a detected time-zone change, unfinished games get up to 12 hours past their original midnight; the Travel grace card shows the deadline. Version 1.0 uses 00:00 UTC.

In version 1.0.1, each collected country has a flag-filled 3D badge in its geographic shape. Swipe horizontally to spin it; a quick flick coasts before settling back to the front. My World shows only your collected territories in their real places.

Tap the passport cover selector to choose an earned design. Unearned covers remain locked; collecting more countries unlocks new tiers. In a country’s details, Find it on the map opens Pennant’s offline atlas, with the country highlighted, pinch and pan, a world overview and a recenter button.

No. Draw the Flag is extra practice. It doesn’t affect your country reward or streak.

Place countries in any order, then connect a valid land route from the start to the destination. Include a required stop whenever the puzzle shows one. Neighboring countries along the completed route must share a playable land border.

Green means a country belongs to at least one shortest route. Yellow means it is a land-connected detour. Red means it cannot form a land connection for this puzzle. Red attempts remain visible so you can inspect or undo them. Incomplete placements do not trigger confetti.

Different valid routes can solve the puzzle, including equally short alternatives. You don’t need to type the destination: the game finishes when your route reaches it. Move the globe with one finger. With two fingers, pinch around the place you want to inspect and move the fingers together to pan. North stays upright, including while zoomed in.

Version 1.0.1 has four levels. Easy offers four country choices with all unnamed outlines. Medium uses typed entry with all outlines. Hard reveals only the supplied endpoints and countries you place. Expert hides the map. Switch levels without losing placements. Saved Easy, Medium and Hard rounds from version 1.0 become Medium, Hard and Expert, keeping the same amount of help. The route and required stops still apply.

Guess a country to reveal it on the north-up Equal Earth map. You can pan and zoom to inspect your guesses. Distance is measured approximately between representative country centers; arrows point toward the destination on that flat map. They are puzzle clues, not compass bearings for a real journey.

Yes. From memory is the default. Tap Draw a random flag for a country from your chosen difficulty, or choose a country yourself. The random choice avoids your previous flag. You see the reference after choosing to compare your drawing. Study mode lets you look first. The app compares your drawing on your device and offers a percentage score and an overlay to help you see the differences.

Pennant’s catalog contains 193 United Nations member states, plus the Holy See and Palestine. Country Connect follows curated land-border connections; ferry routes, tunnels and most overseas-territory connections are not playable crossings.

Open Settings → Country rules & data credits for geographic conventions, map and flag sources, and bundled licenses.

Your first game is ad-free. After at least five active minutes in Pennant, an available full-screen ad may appear when you choose to start a new game. An ad never starts simply because the timer reaches five minutes.

There is another five-active-minute buffer between ads, with a maximum of six full-screen ads per UTC day. Background time and time inside ad or consent screens don’t advance that buffer. Resuming a saved game, viewing results and closing a game are not ad breaks.

If an ad isn’t available, your chosen game opens. Internal TestFlight builds may use Google test ads.

Remove Ads is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It removes future advertising from Pennant; every game mode is already available for free. Apple shows the price and confirms your purchase.

Open Settings → Advertising privacy choices when that entry is available for your region. You can review the choices offered by the consent provider, including applicable consent or opt-out options. Pennant requests non-personalized ads regardless of whether personalization is permitted by those choices.

If the form cannot open, check your connection and try again. Games remain playable. Lifetime ad removal stops future ads; it does not remove records already held by advertising providers. Read the advertising privacy details.

Open Settings → Restore purchases while connected to the internet and signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase. Wait for the confirmation that ad removal was restored.

If the app can’t find the purchase, check your Apple purchase history. If it still doesn’t look right, contact support. For refunds or payment problems, use Apple’s billing support.

Open Settings → Report an ad, choose the type of problem and add what you remember. The report includes your notes and, if you choose, the app version. It does not automatically attach game answers, drawings, device identifiers or activity logs.

You review the email before sending it. You can also copy the report and send it another way.

The core daily games, country data, map outlines and drawing comparison work on your device. Ads, purchases, purchase restoration and external links need a connection. Pennant does not require an account.

Reminders are optional. Turn them on in Settings → Daily streak reminder and allow notifications when asked. A local reminder is scheduled four hours before midnight in your saved daily time zone in version 1.0.1 (20:00 UTC in version 1.0), when your streak still needs a completed puzzle. A successful daily or archive completion today protects your streak and cancels today’s reminder. Practice and revealed answers do not.

Change the preference in Pennant or notification permissions in your device settings. No push account or notification server is used.

Open Settings. Choose Light, Dark or System appearance, and turn haptic feedback on or off.

Progress is saved on your device; device backups may include it. Pennant does not provide account-based cloud sync. Deleting the app removes its local data, and starting again on another device does not automatically move your passport.

If you see a storage warning, use the retry option in Settings. Avoid deleting the app while you’re trying to recover progress.

Settings → Play insights lets you turn off local activity recording, export the counters or delete them. Use Settings → Reset all progress to clear your saved games and passport.

Activity counts, appearance, reminder preferences, ad pacing and purchases are separate from game progress. Resetting your passport does not cancel a purchase.
