About this policy
Pennant is a geography game published by STONEG LLC. This policy covers the app’s games, drawing practice, local play insights, optional reminders, lifetime ad-removal purchase, support correspondence and this support website.
Pennant does not require a player account. It does not upload your country guesses or drawings to a Pennant server.
Saved on your device
Game progress, puzzle history, country rewards, your passport and preferences are stored locally. Version 1.0.1 also stores your chosen daily time-zone identifier and limited travel-grace state on your device. The app reads the system time zone; this does not require GPS or location permission, and Pennant does not send your daily time zone to a server. Device backups may include these files.
Draw the Flag compares your drawing with bundled flag artwork on your device. There is no remote AI scoring service. The current drawing is held during the practice flow and discarded when you close that flow.
The app also stores ad-pacing counters and measures elapsed foreground time. These controls are separate from game progress and optional play insights. Background time and visible ad or consent screens do not count toward the ad buffer. Pennant does not export your device’s boot time.
Local play insights
Play insights records fixed-name counts of visits, game starts and outcomes, hints, drawing comparisons, ad outcomes, and successful ad-removal actions, plus total foreground time. Recording is enabled locally by default and can be turned off.
These counters do not include typed searches, guessed countries, drawing images, names, email addresses, location, device identifiers, transaction identifiers or individual event timestamps. Pennant has no custom analytics server and does not automatically transmit these counters.
In Settings → Play insights, you can view them, stop new recording, export a text snapshot through the system share sheet, or delete them. You choose the destination of an export. Device backups may include the local file. Apple’s separate App Store reporting and diagnostic-sharing settings operate independently of these counters.
Optional daily reminders
Streak reminders use local notifications scheduled on your device. No remote push token, player account or notification server is used. If enabled and permitted by your device, a reminder is scheduled four hours before the daily reset (midnight in your saved daily time zone in version 1.0.1; 00:00 UTC in version 1.0) when your streak needs a completed puzzle. A successful daily or archive completion today protects your streak and cancels today’s reminder. Practice and revealed answers do not.
Manage this in Settings → Daily streak reminder or in your device’s notification settings.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases and manages payment information. Pennant checks verified StoreKit transactions to determine whether lifetime ad removal is active. Pennant does not receive your payment-card details and does not send transaction identifiers to its play-insights system.
Apple purchase history and refunds are managed through Apple. Visit Apple’s billing support for help.
Apple age checks
On supported systems, Pennant checks Apple’s regional age requirements. Where required, Apple’s system interface can ask you to share an age range. Pennant uses a temporary on-device result to decide whether advertising is allowed. It does not collect a birthdate, create an age profile, or store or send that result to analytics or advertising providers.
Free games remain playable if you decline or a check is unavailable. Apple operates its own age-sharing and parental-permission services under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Advertising and consent
Free play is supported by Google AdMob. After at least five active minutes in Pennant, an available ad may appear before a new game starts. Your first game is ad-free.
Pennant requests non-personalized ads, disables Google’s ad-personalization setting, and disables its publisher first-party ID before starting the ads SDK. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or precise location. These controls do not mean that advertising collects no data.
Google’s Mobile Ads and consent services may process these categories of information to deliver and measure ads, operate privacy choices, diagnose problems and protect their services:
- Approximate location, estimated from your IP address.
- Device identifiers, such as available app- or developer-bounded identifiers.
- Advertising data, such as ads shown and ad impressions.
- Product interactions, such as app or ad interactions and use of the consent interface.
- Performance data, such as launch timing, hangs and energy use.
- Crash data, used to diagnose SDK failures.
- Other diagnostic data, used to operate and improve the advertising services.
Some information may be associated with your device. Google may use eligible advertising partners to deliver ads, subject to the applicable consent choices and advertising restrictions. Non-personalized ads can still use data for reporting, security and frequency limits. See Google’s privacy policy and Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure for provider information.
Pennant uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to check applicable advertising choices and show required consent messages. Ads are requested only when its consent status permits them. When available, open Settings → Advertising privacy choices to review or change your choices, including applicable consent or opt-out options. The choice you make does not prevent you from playing the games.
Buying or restoring lifetime ad removal stops new advertising requests and clears loaded ad inventory. Consent-status checks may still occur so privacy choices remain available. Ad removal does not delete information a provider has already processed. If an ad cannot load or consent is unavailable, games remain playable.
Internal beta versions may use Google test inventory, which still connects to Google services.
Support messages and ad reports
If you choose to email support, your email service supplies your sender address and any name associated with it. We receive the message, attachments and other information you choose to send so we can respond and investigate your request.
Pennant’s ad-report screen prepares the problem category, your notes and an optional app version. It does not automatically include ad or device identifiers, game answers, drawings or activity logs. You review and send the message in an email app, or copy it yourself. Nothing is sent merely by typing in the report screen.
Support correspondence is kept in the Gmail mailbox used for Pennant support so we can answer your request and follow up on related issues. To request deletion of correspondence you have sent us, email the support address below. Records needed to resolve an open issue or meet legal obligations may be retained. Gmail also processes these messages under Google's privacy and retention policies; this policy does not promise a fixed deletion period for provider-held copies.
Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information.
This support website
This website does not add advertising, analytics scripts, forms, cookies or browser-storage features. Visiting it still sends network information, including an IP address and ordinary browser request details, to its hosting provider.
This website is hosted on Amazon Web Services using S3 and CloudFront. AWS processes network request information to deliver and protect the site. We do not enable visitor access logging for this site or add our own website analytics. AWS may retain service or security records under its own terms.
See the AWS Privacy Notice for provider information. Links to Apple, Google or other external services take you to providers with their own privacy practices.
Your choices and data retention
Local progress stays on your device until you reset it, remove the app’s local data or delete the app. Use Settings → Reset all progress to clear saved games and passport discoveries. Appearance, reminder preferences, play-insights counters, ad-pacing records and verified purchases are managed separately.
Use Settings → Play insights to delete activity counters or turn recording off. Manage advertising choices through the entry in Settings when available. Device backups and Apple purchase history are managed through your Apple Account and device settings.
Google’s retention policy describes how its retention and deletion practices vary by information and purpose. Resetting local progress or removing ads does not delete records already held by Google or Apple.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, such as access, correction or deletion. To request access to or deletion of information you have sent Pennant support, email the address below and identify the correspondence you want us to locate. Do not include a password or payment information. We may need enough information to confirm that the request relates to you.
